Account Access & Recovery Policy
To keep things simple and safe: I help you secure your accounts, but I do not own, keep, or manage access
to them. Everything we set up during a session is designed so that you stay in full control.
What I do
- Guide you through setting up or cleaning up your password manager (usually Bitwarden).
- Help you enable and configure MFA (Authy or Google Authenticator) on your key accounts.
- Assist with storing recovery codes safely inside your password manager vault.
- Walk through account security settings, active sessions, connected apps, and risky access.
- Provide a simple “what to do if…” plan for lost devices or account issues.
What I never do
- I do not store or keep your passwords.
- I do not add my email, phone, or devices to your recovery options.
- I do not create any secret way for me to get back into your accounts.
- I do not manage your accounts after the session as an ongoing admin.
- I do not guarantee recovery if providers deny access or policies change.
You stay in control. I set things up with you, explain what we’re doing, and make sure
recovery options are in your name (your phone, your email, your vault). After the session, I
cannot log into your accounts or reset them on your behalf.
Recovery setup & your responsibilities
A big part of our work together is making sure you’re not locked out if something goes wrong, like
losing a phone, getting a new device, or an account being flagged for unusual activity.
What’s in your recovery plan
- Backup codes saved into your password manager for key accounts.
- Recovery emails and phone numbers updated to ones you actually control.
- MFA apps set up correctly, with recovery options where available.
- A simple checklist for what to do if your phone is lost or replaced.
- Guidance on keeping your password manager master password safe.
Your part in staying secure
- Remember and protect your password manager master password.
- Keep your recovery email and phone number up to date with each provider.
- Store your devices safely and let providers know quickly if they’re lost or stolen.
- Review the written notes or summary provided after our session, if applicable.
- Contact the service provider directly (Google, Meta, bank, etc.) if you’re locked out.
